In the last 24 hours Sony has unveiled its latest hardware: Playstation Tablets. This article at IGN shows two designs that Sony have planned for this fall. They will be released globally on a date to be confirmed, and have been named as the S1 and S2. Pricing details have not been announced, but you will be able to download PS1 titles, (most people would either own them, or have them on the PS3 by now I would have thought?) as well as performing other tablet related activities. The main difference between the two from what I can see so far will likely be the pricing and the size and design of the screens, as you can see from the picture below.

Hello Antiherogamers. Welcome to today’s post, where we look at Portal and imminent release of Portal 2. This post does contain some spoilers, so consider yourselves warned. This week sees the release of arguably one of the most anticipated games of 2011. As we all wait, anticipation reaching mind bogglingly high levels, we should look back at just why so many people are now “thinking with portals”

I’ve just spent what feels like hours travelling through the dark, twisted woods that lead down to the lake. With every flicker of movement, every change in the shadows, I nervously look, snapping my head from side to side, making sure I’m safe. I can hear my friend below me, calling out to me, telling me he’ll meet me at the farm. Don’t leave me alone, I think; but it’s too late, he’s gone, and I’m left to fend for myself.

A thin layer of perspiration settles on my brow, my clammy hands gripping the beaten up torch that feels like my only salvation. They’re coming to get me. I evade shadows, dodging and writhing from their grasp, diving into any pool of light I can see, grateful for the salvation it provides. How much longer can I go on like this? I want it to stop….but at the same time, I never want it to end.

Hello antiherogamers,

Today’s post is bought to you by my colleague Nick, who when he’s not talking about how he’d change the country for the better, (watch out for Nick’s Britain people, it’s going to divide the world like Moses parting the red sea) is playing games and offering opinions on them. If you want to know if you should spend your hard earned cash on the new Crysis game then read below for a short snappy take on the latest entry to the series. If you want to contact Nick, feel free to add him on your PS3. His username is nickzgti

Billed as, ‘the most graphically advanced game on a console (or probably any format) ever’ is a strong statement to make and normally such arrogance would be swiftly put down but sadly I would have to agree. I cannot comment on what it looks like on a high end gaming PC (truly insane I should think) but on the PS3 it is definitely the best looking game I have ever seen on this machine. Specifically the water and lighting effects (including accurate shadow rendering) are second to none. The environments it produces truly are wondrous and to be honest put real life to shame!

Hello Antiherogamers!

Welcome to our first review: Enjoy!

Donkey Kong Country Returns Review:

Gaming for me has always been about one of two things; it’s either escapism: Becoming immersed in a rich vibrant story, looking on in awe at the world before me; or it’s enjoyment, the fun factor of gaming, solo or with friends, challenging or easy, that allows me to have a good time. If a game can provide me with either of these two things then usually the rest falls into place. Even if a game isn’t particularly immersive, the entertainment factor can support this. The same goes if a game is maybe too easy or too hard; if it’s got a great story I feel compelled to finish it. On occasions a game provides me with both a level of escapism and entertainment. Donkey Kong Country Returns is one such game.

New Faces

Hello Antiherogamers!

First and foremost you have my sincerest apologies for the disruptions of the last two months. It has simply been internet connection problems; which are now solved. Now that we are back up and running you can witness the fire-power of this fully armed and operational… wait sorry I went off on a tangent then…

What I meant to say was that now we are back up and running we have some announcements. Yes, that’s right actual announcements. Both of which are exciting and interesting so hang onto your hats and read on!

Firstly we welcome two new persons to the Antiherogaming team! These are Ian and Dave aka Vinny V and Shogun. You can head over to the “The Team” page to read their personal information, bank details and blood type should the mood take you. Ian will be joining us as an additional writer this is to ensure that we get more gaming news and information that you guys crave! He’s a great writer and a very welcome addition to the team. Dave joins us in a quality control capacity. He will be reviewing work, submitting a few ideas and helping out generally. He’s like an editor minus the power, pay or desk. The lucky sod.

Secondly is that I (Toffer) will be submitting work from time to time on a neighbouring website: GamingLives. It’s a top site and is growing in popularity rapidly. So head over there when you can; take a gander at my work and that of other people. My first piece there will be an improved and more in depth version of my post on regenerating health which attracted so much attention the first time around. It will be up sometime in the future so have a look will ya!

See you all soon!
